The Story Behind PPC
A Legacy of Excellence
Founded in 1998, Perth Plasterboard Centre began as a family-owned business with a vision to revolutionise the building materials industry in Western Australia. Established by Robert Watson, PPC started in Malaga, WA, before relocating to Canning Vale—a move that positioned PPC strategically to better serve its growing customer base. Over the decades, PPC has become synonymous with quality, reliability, and exceptional service.
As a 4th-generation, Australian-owned and operated business, PPC proudly carries forward a legacy that dates back to the 1950s. This deep-rooted experience has allowed us to positively impact the building industry in both Western Australia and, more recently, across the nation.
PPC Adelaide
Building on success
Our expansion into Adelaide began with the establishment of the Adelaide Plasterboard Centre, which has since been rebranded as PPC Adelaide. This change reflects our commitment to a unified brand identity across the nation. By bringing all branches under the “PPC” name, we ensure that our customers can rely on consistent quality, service, and expertise, no matter where they are in Australia. PPC Adelaide has quickly become a trusted supplier in South Australia, delivering premium building materials to local builders and contractors.
Why do we continue to use PPC?
Why not Adelaide Plasterboard Centre? Broome Plasterboard Centre? Melbourne Plasterboard Centre?
Our decision to unify all branches under the PPC name stems from a desire to present a cohesive brand identity that reflects our nationwide reach and consistent quality. While names like “Adelaide Plasterboard Centre” or “Broome Plasterboard Centre” may emphasize local presence, we believe the “PPC” brand carries the weight of our history, expertise, and reputation across Australia.
By choosing names like PPC Adelaide and PPC Broome, we communicate to our customers that they are part of a larger network backed by decades of industry experience and the resources of a trusted, Australia-wide supplier. This approach ensures all our customers receive the same exceptional service and product quality, regardless of location.
